Brewed from the bottom up, the way heat actually works.

Most drippers manage heat from the outside in. The UFO Ceramic Dripper approaches it differently, pulling warmth upward from the server below and concentrating it where the coffee needs it most. The result is a more stable brew bed temperature from start to finish, without adding complexity to your pour.

The UFO is designed to sit directly on your server. That contact point is intentional: hot air rising from the output coffee inside the server circulates upward into the thickest, most thermally active section of the dripper wall, supplementing the heat the ceramic itself retains. It is a passive system, and it works precisely because of where the dripper sits, not despite it.

The Design Rationale

Variable wall thickness is the core of what makes the UFO work. The uppermost wall is 23.7% thinner than the lowermost wall. This reduction removes thermal mass from the top of the dripper, where it would have little useful effect, and concentrates it at the base, closest to the heat source below. Thicker walls at the bottom retain more heat. Thinner walls at the top stay out of the way.

Conventional drippers that use protruding rib designs rely on separation between the dripper base and the server, typically via base risers, to maintain airflow. That separation, while necessary for airflow, also cuts off the dripper from any heat the server provides. The UFO resolves this with internal air channels that deliver consistent airflow from behind the filter without requiring the dripper to be lifted away from the server. Airlock and stalling are not concerns.

The Setup

The UFO Ceramic Dripper sits directly on your server, carafe, or cup without a separate holder. This is a deliberate design choice, not an omission. Removing the base keeps the dripper in direct thermal contact with the vessel below, enabling the upward heat circulation the design depends on. A holder would interrupt that connection.

Compatible Filters

The UFO Ceramic Dripper is compatible with the following filters:

       UFO Type A Filter (available separately)

       Sibarist UFO Special Edition Fast Cone (available separately)

       Sibarist UFO B3 Flat (available separately)

Trying different filters is the best way to explore what this dripper can do. Each one changes the flow dynamic in a way that is worth experiencing.

Colors of actual products might show up slightly different than in the product photos. This is due to the various settings of monitors. Every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colors, and every individual may see these colors differently. In addition, lighting conditions at the time the photo was taken can also affect an image's color.

Products that have a shimmering coating will also show differently under different lighting setup. Colors might appear different even under a fluorescent light or a warmer shade bulb.

The UFO Ceramic Dripper is a handmade brewer and every piece is unique. While there is high consistency in the production process, there may be glaze variations associated with the handmade process that are not regarded as defects.

Vanilla Sparkles

The glaze of the white UFO Ceramic Dripper contains small black sparkles, unique to this brewer. These are not regarded as defects.

 

"Backbone"

This is the edge where two pieces are sealed together. It is not regarded as a defect and will not affect the brewing process.

 

Using Sibarist Flat Papers

UFO was designed for use with Sibarist Fast flat and B3 papers, although this template can be used to fold any flat filter. Simply fold once in half, then fold to match the angle below (feel free to take a screenshot and print this diagram).
