The Cupcano Glass Large is a wide-bowl borosilicate glass designed for filter coffee, lattes, and milk-based drinks where a fuller serving is preferred. Its wine glass-inspired shape gives the liquid more surface area at the top, which allows aroma to collect before each sip. It holds 240 ml usably, with 440 ml total capacity to the rim.
The handleless form keeps the profile clean and puts the warmth of the drink directly in your hand. The borosilicate construction is lightweight, thermally stable, and clear enough to show the colour of whatever is inside.
Borosilicate Glass and the Bowl Shape
Borosilicate glass handles thermal stress better than standard soda-lime glass because of its lower coefficient of thermal expansion. It can take hot liquid without the wall thickness needed to compensate, which keeps the glass light and the walls thin. The Cupcano Glass uses borosilicate throughout.
The bowl shape is wider at the top than at the base. This increases the surface area of the liquid, giving aromatic compounds more room to release before each sip. The same design logic is used in wine glassware, where shape is chosen specifically to direct aroma toward the nose. Applied to coffee, the effect is a drink that presents more of its character before it reaches the palate.
The Glass
The Cupcano Glass Large is a single-piece borosilicate vessel with a wide bowl tapering to a stable base. It is well suited to filter coffee brewed directly into the glass, lattes and flat whites where the capacity supports a fuller drink, and any coffee best served in a larger serving. The Cupcano Glass Small is available separately for shorter drinks.
