This project is a joint limited edition collaboration between MK Studio, UFO and Wataru Iidaka, two-time Japan National Brewers Cup Champion
The UFO Coffee Tools × MK Ceramics Studio × Wataru Iidaka Ceramic UFO Dripper 01 - Special Edition uses an 80° cone, wider than the 60° of a traditional conical dripper like the Hario V60, along with UFO's air-channel design. The body is handmade by MK Ceramics Studio of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the edition was made with two-time Japan Brewers Cup Champion Wataru Iidaka.
Wataru Iidaka has won the Japan Brewers Cup twice. At the 2024 World Brewers Cup he placed second, brewing with the UFO Dripper as part of his competition routine. This edition carries his name and is finished in a black and white monochrome palette.
Geometry
Conventional conical drippers produce complex, acidic cup profiles but are sensitive to dose variation and prone to inconsistency. The UFO addresses this through an unprecedented 80° interior angle, shallower than any comparable conical on the market. The wider angle slows flow rate to maintain controlled contact time, reduces bed depth variation across different dose sizes, and encourages fines accumulation above the bed rather than throughout it. The result is a conical that is more forgiving to technique variation without sacrificing the cup characteristics that make the format compelling.
Air Channel Technology
Rather than protruding ribs, the UFO integrates recessed air channels that work in tandem with the Disperser tool for precise filter placement and repeatable bypass control. The channels simultaneously equalize air pressure above and below the carafe, eliminating stall risk during the brew cycle.
Handmade by MK Ceramics Studio in Copenhagen
MK Ceramics Studio is a Copenhagen workshop founded by Magdalena Kałużna-Włodarek and Michał Kałużny-Włodarek. The studio is highly regarded in the artisan ceramic world, and produces handmade ceramics in limited editions, for use at home and in restaurant table service.
The ceramic body of each dripper is made by hand in the studio. Because of that process, the balance of black and white shifts slightly from one dripper to the next, and no two carry exactly the same pattern.

How It Brews
If you usually brew on a 60° cone, the same dose will sit lower and wider in this dripper.

UFO was designed for use with Sibarist Fast flat and B3 papers, although this template can be used to fold any flat filter. Simply fold once in half, then fold to match the angle below (feel free to take a screenshot and print this diagram).
