Made specifically for the OREA V3 dripper, the FLAT Special edition OREA is a FLAT filter redesigned to fit perfectly with the OREA V3 brewer.
This special edition has the proper angles and diameters to ensure the zero bypass and a fast drawdown and great drain-through control.
FLAT
The FLAT is the unique and original non-fluted flat-bottomed filter for coffee drippers, designed and patented by SIBARIST. It offers a unique, smooth and unobstructed area that offers the perfect and even space for brewing with full access to the coffee bed. It eliminates the bypass effect and provides the most even extraction with the maximum coffee particle yield, preventing coffee particles from being trapped in fluted areas.
The FLAT uses the FAST Specialty Coffee Filter technology, its no-waves surface eliminates the bypass to provide a regular water contact to all coffee particles and continuous turbulence. Also have all the FAST Specialty Coffee Filter characteristics.
A COMPLETE FIT - ELIMINATING BYPASS
The air flow between the filter and the brewer is eliminated by the flat paper’s adhesion to the dripper walls when wet, thereby removing the “bypass” that can cause astringency in the cup.
The FLAT is very sensitive to dripper geometries and properties since once it is wet, the filter stitches to the dripper walls, eliminating the bypass effect and the air circulation through the filter. This makes it possible to obtain different flow rates depending on the dripper used, opening a new world of possibilities for the barista to experiment with and select the dripper depending on the target extraction time.
A CLEAN SILHOUETTE - NO WAVES
The filter CONE FAST eliminates the air gaps created between the waves of classic flat bed filter which ones produce the bypass effect, the FLAT FAST eliminates any air circulation between the filter and the dripper. The FAST Specialty Coffee paper provide enough permeability to provide a fast and excellent flow rate without these extra air channels. In addition, provides a characteristically clean taste and silky mouthfeel that is free of paper flavor.
The free waves shapes do not allow to the coffee particles to be trapped on the waves, providing a more uniform and complete extraction, ensuring that all the coffee particles used on the brew will be in contact with the water in a more uniform and complete fashion providing a more even extraction. The smooth surface offers a better geometry to create a more uniform turbulence.

A smooth, obstacle-free infusion volume provides freedom, more even turbulence and uniform circulation of particles in the slurry when pouring, resulting in even extractions.
MORE CONTROL OVER EXTRACTION
The pouring speed and turbulence have a direct effect on the filter’s flow and drawdown: cause-effect, making it possible to lengthen or shorten the extraction with the pouring valence.

The selection of materials and Sibarist's manufacturing process are focused on achieving the highest possible quality over any other factor, while always respecting process sustainability.
The FAST line is composed of a mixture of abaca fiber from plantations in Ecuador and the Philippines (where the product consumed is replanted every year to then be harvested, offering a sustainable process, with batch control and chain of custody), cellulose fiber from European pine plantations (FSC and PEFC) and organic plant-based (non-fossil) polylactic acid.
The main component, abaca fiber, is finer and more porous than other fibers, giving FAST paper good permeability (leading to a higher extraction speed), while offering great tensile and tearing strength in wet conditions, bringing structure and resistance to the composition, with a low substance (less paper). Additionally, the fibers are pulp made from non-wood fibers. This facilitates clean in-plant processing, essential for eliminating the presence of external flavors in the cup and for offering a high-quality filter, while it can also be processed in a more sustainable way.

FAST Specialty Coffee Filter technology is a unique fiber composition that provides a “drawdown” circulation of liquid (dissolution of soluble coffee particles) through its unprecedented structure, offering a fast, constant flow in extractions while retaining the solid, non-soluble particles. This results in a clean, silky cup, free from external flavors.
