A refined update to the original Katakuchi Matcha Bowl, this new design embraces a more artisanal feel, with glaze carefully applied all the way to the rim — a subtle detail that speaks to its craftsmanship.

Its softly rounded base allows the whisk to move fluidly, supporting the smooth and mindful preparation of matcha. The spout has also been thoughtfully reimagined to pour cleanly and completely — whether you're making a traditional bowl of matcha or kneading a thicker blend for a matcha latte.

Crafted to elevate the experience of hand-drip specialty coffee, this cup is designed with precision and intention. The thin rim offers a refined mouthfeel, allowing the delicate nuances and clarity of specialty coffee to come through with each sip.

Its form encourages the coffee to flow from the back of the tongue to the sides, enhancing the perception of clean acidity and balance. The gently curved inner shape is designed to trap and concentrate aroma when the cup is filled about one-third of the way, creating a rich aromatic experience as the scent rises toward your nose.

Available in two thoughtfully selected colorways - Alpine White, which beautifully showcases the color of the coffee, and Stoneware Grey, which minimizes visual distraction and allows aroma and taste to take center stage.

A modern take to an early design from 1960s and 1970s

The Flare Cup + Saucer Set features a vintage design that brings back the distinctive flare of the 1960s and 1970s, blending nostalgic charm with modern sensibilities. A reinterpretation of ORIGAMI's early designs, it revives the soft textures and subtle glazes that defined the era. The use of colored clay instead of plain white enhances its tactile appeal, while the carefully matched dimensions of the cup and base allow for convenient stacking. The updated handle design offers a more ergonomic fit, reflecting the needs of today’s user. Available in both a cup and saucer set and a mug, this piece captures the warmth and unique kiln-changing glaze of stoneware, offering a timeless connection to the past with a refined, contemporary twist.

The handles have also been refined from the original mold to better suit the modern hand, ensuring a more comfortable and ergonomic grip. The ORIGAMI matcha bowl is available in 4 stunning glazes. Made with high density clay, the Origami has excellent heat retaining properties. This matcha bowl is part of a collaboration project between ORIGAMI and Satén Japanese Tea. 

The ORIGAMI match bowl has up to 2 cups capacity for light matcha (お薄茶). It can also be used for thicker style matcha. The wide circumference of this matcha bowl is excellent for the micro-foaming process. The texture of the material provides a suitable kneading base for thicker style matcha (Koicha -お濃茶) (for latte and other beverages). 

The special shaped rim is designed to avoid spillage and ergonomic pouring.  This thoughtful design is combined with the use of stoneware material "Liston" that has the strength to withstand commercial use. Beautifully glaze with warm tones, the ORIGAMI matcha bowl marries the best of matcha tradition and thoughtful design.

Shaped like a barrel - the Barrel Flavor Cup has a caved rim that is designed to capture the aroma of the coffee and to provide a heightened sensory experience.

The rim of the Barrel Flavor Cup is intentionally designed to be slightly thinner than its body for a smooth delivery. This thoughtful design, together with its specific size, fits the palm of the hand nicely to provide a comforting sipping experience.

This cup is at 7.1oz, 210ml volume. A pair of the barrel cup would fit perfectly to pair with our 360ml or 600ml Timemore Carafe.
