Built Around the Brew

Borosilicate glass was chosen because it handles thermal stress without issues, moving from a cold counter to a hot brew and back again without the risk of cracking that comes with ordinary glass. Glass is non-porous, meaning it does not hold flavor between brews and does not interfere with what is in the cup.

The body shape was not accidental. The wider diameter at the belly of the carafe creates the room needed for an effective swirl. Swirling a finished brew, even briefly, allows the coffee to open up, softening sharp edges and letting the natural acidity come forward without bitterness. It is the same principle a sommelier applies to wine, brought into the pour over ritual.

The handle was designed for the act of pouring, not just carrying. Its ergonomic form keeps the hand relaxed during a controlled, steady pour, so the carafe feels like an extension of the process rather than an afterthought at the end of it.

The Pourcano Carafe sits cleanly beneath conical and flat bottom brewers, providing a stable base for the drip-through. When using a conical dripper without a dedicated stand, a compatible holder is recommended to keep the dripper stable and the brew uninterrupted. About the Collaboration

The Small Blankenburg name comes from a collaboration between Slow Pour Supply and Kay Cheon, the 2025 US Barista Champion. When Kay approached Slow Pour with an idea for a pitcher built around barista competition needs, the team worked with WPM, a leading global pitcher manufacturer, to develop a matte white finish designed to resist the fingerprints and milk stains that can cost points on the competition stage.

The name itself is a tribute rather than a technical label. It honors Mark Blankenburg, the milk delivery driver for Dune Coffee Roasters, recognizing the people behind the scenes who support the coffee industry. The Model #27 carries that name and finish in the 10oz narrow spout format, sized for small format drinks rather than the larger service pours the Blankenburg line also covers.

The ORIGAMI ReWork Ceramic Dripper is the first release in the ReWork project, ORIGAMI’s considered effort to reclaim the porcelain discarded during production and put it back to work. Each dripper incorporates 20% recycled porcelain content, reclaimed from material that would otherwise be waste.

Handcrafted in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, this is Mino-yaki porcelain: a tradition four to five hundred years old, practiced today by only a few dozen artisans. The recycled material doesn’t change the craft. It becomes part of it.

The ORIGAMI ReWork Ceramic Dripper brews one to two cups. It carries the same 20-fold interior as the rest of the ORIGAMI Dripper range, compatible with both conical and wave style filters, with the same heat retention and the same precise drip hole. What is different is the surface: unglazed, matte, with a quiet shimmer from the recycled material woven through the porcelain.

A Craft Worth Knowing

Mino-yaki is the ceramic tradition of the Toki area in Gifu Prefecture, a region long celebrated in Japan for its pottery. The techniques used to produce ORIGAMI Drippers are the same ones that have shaped ceramics in this region for generations, refined over centuries and carried forward by the artisans who remain.

The shape of the ORIGAMI Ceramic Dripper, which the ORIGAMI ReWork Ceramic Dripper is based on, was designed by the founder of Trunk Coffee in collaboration with these makers. The result is a brewer shaped by both the culture it comes from and the demands of specialty coffee. It has been used by World Brewers Cup competitors and sits equally well on a competition table or a kitchen counter.

The ReWork project extends that collaboration. Rather than discard the porcelain that does not meet the standard for regular production, ORIGAMI reintroduces it at 20% content into a new run. The quality standard does not change. The artisans, the kiln, the tolerances: all the same. The difference is in what gets used.

Compatible with Both Wave and Conical Style Filters

The 20-fold interior does two things well. With a conical filter, the folds create airflow channels between the filter and the dripper wall, encouraging faster, more even extraction. With a wave filter, the flat bed geometry changes the brew dynamic entirely, slowing flow rate and producing a fuller, rounder cup. One dripper, two distinct approaches.

The high-density Mino porcelain retains heat through the full pour, keeping the brew bed temperature stable from bloom to drawdown.
