The TIMEMORE × Millab M01 is designed for clarity - from the external dial, to the step-adjustments, to grind uniformity, the Millab M01 maintains clear operation - allowing your coffee to speak through with ease.
Five Stages, One Grinding Path
Unlike a traditional conical burr, the Pineapple Burr uses a tapered profile that spreads grinding work across multiple cutting zones. Coffee is reduced more gradually, helping minimize abrupt fractures and unnecessary fines. Developed through TIMEMORE's specialty grinder lab, the M01 introduces a new 44mm Pineapple Burr designed around a longer grinding path. Instead of reducing coffee in a single cutting stage like a conventional conical burr, the Pineapple Burr progressively breaks beans down over five stages before they exit the burr set. This creates an effective cutting path measuring approximately 60mm: around 50% longer than a conventional 44mm conical burr and improves particle consistency by approximately 10% when compared with the company's S2C-042-III burr.
While remaining a compact 44mm conical design, this allows it to approach the effective cutting distance found in many 64mm flat burr grinders. The result is a more controlled particle distribution while maintaining the compact form factor of a hand grinder.
Built Around Tight Tolerances
Consistency begins with alignment.
TIMEMORE specifies a burr gap tolerance of 0.0725mm, paired with custom P7 bearings developed specifically for the M01 platform. Together, these components are intended to minimize burr movement and maintain alignment throughout the grinding process.
Precision Adjustment
The M01 features an externally mounted adjustment dial built from five machined metal components.
Each click locks positively into place, allowing grind settings to remain consistent between brewing sessions. The stepped adjustment is designed to provide precise control across espresso through coarse brewing methods without accidental movement during use.
TIMEMORE states the grinder offers up to 100 micro-adjustments across a single rotation of the adjustment dial.
Thoughtful Details
Beyond the burr geometry, the M01 incorporates several practical design features that improve day-to-day use.
- External all-metal grind adjustment dial
- Click-lock adjustment designed to resist unintended movement
- Threadless swivel-lock catch cup
- Silicone base for improved stability while grinding
- 51-component all-metal construction
Brew Range
TIMEMORE's recommended starting points:
| Brew Method | Dial Reference |
|---|---|
| Espresso | 0–1.5 |
| Moka Pot | 1.0–3.0 |
| Pour Over | 5.0–9.0 |
| French Press | 8.0–10.0 |
These figures are intended as starting points only. Grind settings will vary depending on coffee, roast level, dose, and recipe.
