The IWCA Pitcher
Slow Pour Supply x International Women’s Coffee Alliance
Connect • Empower • Advance
The IWCA (International Women’s Coffee Alliance) Global Network connects self-driven, locally-organized communities in 24 countries who are all united by the IWCA mission. Slow Pour Supply works with the goal of supporting those who are underrepresented in the coffee industry. This year we are excited to support the International Women’s Coffee Alliance. This organization empowers women all over the world to find success through coffee - starting at the farm level, to the store fronts and everything in between, IWCA works to raise the visibility and reach of women working to achieve sustainable coffee communities across the globe.
This year, Speciality Coffee Expo focus country is Burundi. As a chapter, IWCA Burundi began its work by partnering with NGOs and others to provide a central point of contact to address livelihood needs such as nutrition. Each chapter sets and pursues its own goals, and the Burundi chapter specifically values the processing and production of quality coffee and easy access within the market. Over time, this chapter has expanded its accomplishments beyond the improvement of coffee quality, and is now earning coffee premiums, and has launched a financial literacy program, which is impacting the entire farming community.
Since 2003, the IWCA has worked as a powerful catalyst for women to be central players in achieving meaningful and sustainable livelihoods across coffee communities. As a way for you to support the IWCA in their global work, Slow Pour has created a batch of limited edition pitchers. You will find that one is a rose gold pitcher with a round spout, and the other is a brushed steel with a sharp spout; both have the statement Connect. Empower. Advance. Strong Women = Strong Coffee IWCA 2019 imprinted on them.
All proceeds go to the IWCA to support the pursuit of the IWCA mission: to empower women in the international coffee community to achieve meaningful and sustainable lives; and to encourage and recognize the participation of women in all aspects of the coffee industry. You can find more information on their projects here.
